Setting the Standard for Ethical E-Collar Training in the UK

Education. Regulation. Accountability. Because outcomes matter more than optics.

NAPET - Founders’ Statement

NAPET was founded by several professionals working within the dog industry, united by a shared commitment to responsible training and high professional standards.

Together, the founders bring more than 75 years of practical experience working with dogs across a wide range of breeds, temperaments, and training needs. This experience informs NAPET’s approach to clear communication, consistency, and welfare-centred practice.

The National Association For Professional E-collar Training (NAPET) was established to promote the ethical and responsible use of E-collars within professional training. NAPET recognises that E-collars are a specialist tool requiring knowledge, ethical responsibility, and appropriate guidance.

The association exists to support trainers and owners who take their responsibilities seriously, and to raise standards across the profession through education, accountability, and ongoing development.

NAPET is committed to transparency, professionalism, and constructive public engagement, with the aim of ensuring that ethical E-collar training is understood, respected, and maintained in the best interests of dogs.
